A propos de l’événement

To approach the romantic repertoire by being inspired by the playing of the last romantics recorded at the end of the 19th century

What to prepare: any repertoire from the 19th century, after prior consultation with the teachers (even repertoire from the 18th century could be presented, but in a late romantic style - please consult us to see if this is appropriate). Emphasis will be placed on German repertoire, because of the Streicher (but this is not mandatory).
We will provide students with a list of suggestions, but they can choose freely or bring their own repertoire.

For whom: all musicians interested in the 19th century performance style, pianists, string players, wind players and singers.
Listeners are welcome.

Possibility to come and rehearse on the Streicher 1847 piano at the Salon Romantique to prepare the masterclass.
Registration Fee: 50€ for participants, 10€ for free listeners

Graduating with honors from the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis in fortepiano with Edoardo Torbianelli and harpsichord (Marcon & Corti), Laura Fernandez Granero is involved in historically informed performance of the Romantic repertoires by cross-referencing written and recorded sources of the last Romantic pianists of the 19th century. She was invited to the "Correct but not beautiful" symposium in Sydney in September 2018. She plays regularly at the Festival Oude Muziek in Utrecht (Fabulous Fringe), at the TivoliVredenburg (Grote Zaal), at the Geelvinck Festival, at the Musitekton Hall (Barcelona), in Madrid, Seville, at the Royaumont Festival and Pianos, Pianos festival at Bouffes du Nord. She organizes conferences in Madrid with musician-researchers from all over the world.

Johannes Gebauer violin
Johannes Gebauer first became involved in historically informed violin performance in the great baroque adventures: Academy of ancient Music in London and Joshua Rifkin's Bach Ensemble in New York, musicological advisor to Christopher Hogwood and more recently in romantic performance. Together with Prof. Kai Köpp he is a member of a research group at the University of the Arts in Bern, Instructive Editions (Instruktive Ausgaben) and is working on a doctorate on the playing of Brahms' violinist Joseh Joachim.
